The completely new petrol engines 1.6 SIDI (spark ignition direct injection) Turbo is now also available in the Opel Astra. 125 KW/170 HP strong Turbo four-cylinder Astra hatchback, sedan and sports tourer brings in terms of torque and smoothness to the top of the segment.
The Opel Astra family – first but not the Astra GTC – serves the aggregate of the new generation as top-of-the-line gasoline engine and replaces the previous 1.6 Turbo. The new engine offers already from 1,650 RPM exceptionally high torque maximum of up to 280 nm 50 nm more than its predecessor. But the 1.6 SIDI Turbo is not only better in its characteristic values than the detached engine, it is also convincing compared to the competition: the new engine for the four-door Opel Astra series offers 12 percent more torque than the next compact class rival with 150 to 180 HP – and even goes so clearly German manufacturer of premium models.
Astra consumption significantly reduced
In addition, the new 1.6 SIDI Turbo causes that Opel Astra hatchback and sedan need with a consumption of 5.9 l/100 km in the combined cycle (according to Regulation (EC) No 715/2007) up to 14 percent less fuel than before.
