Toyota designed to appeal to buyers of its first vehicle, the Toyota Vios is the sedan version of the Toyota Yaris, with a family style offering an entry level inexpensive pointing primarily to emerging markets. With its 4.41 meters long, 1.7 meters wide, 1.475 meters high and a wheelbase that stretches 2.55 meters long, the Toyota Vios compete directly with the Honda City, Nissan Versa and Chevrolet Cobalt among others.
The highest range Toyota Vios includes elements outside and projection headlights converging lens, chrome trim and alloy wheels 15 or 16 inches. Despite being designed to lower market segment, the Toyota Vios shows an elegant interior design that highlights the gauge panel, metallic accents and the inclusion of a four-speaker audio with MP3/USB/AUX connectivity. As for the engine’s standard take a four-cylinder 1.5-liter that develops 109 hp and 141 Nm of torque mated to a five-speed manual and higher-end models will come equipped with a four-speed automatic transmission, according to the market.
The Toyota Vios will be produced in Thailand and exported to over 80 countries. According to the Brazilian magazine Car & Driver, the Toyota Vios will also occur in the Toyota plant of Sorocaba, Sao Paulo, from 2014, and will supply the Latin American market.
