Citroën joined Grand C4 and C4 Picasso Picasso with THP 165 hp engine
The French manufacturer has announced the addition of a new engine to its range C4 Picasso minivan, the new THP 165 hp . It is born in collaboration with the French group PSA diesel engine, ie, Peugeot, Citroen and DS. They are not the only ones who have collaborated in the development of this new mechanism as the German automaker BMW has also collaborated in the project.
It is an engine of 1.6 liter turbocharged petrol engine that yields 165 horsepower and maximum torque of 240 Nm at its most flattering RPM range. It replaces the previous 156 hp turbocharged 1.6 so this new engine becomes the most powerful of the range. Registers a very interesting data consumption of just 5.6 liters per 100 kilometers, thanks, among other things, the incorporation of a stop-start system. CO2 emissions have also been reduced from the previous block, now recording a figure of 129 g CO2 / km. You are not exempt, therefore, to pay the tax. The new THP 165 engine is ready to meet future antipollution regulations that strangles us, the Euro 6 .
This engine block has already been used in other models of the PSA group like the Peugeot 308, 3008, 5008, RCZ and soon in the new Peugeot 508, so its reliability is proven enough and this is exactly the same engine . It comes, as we have said before, to replace the previous block of 156 hp 1.6.
Apart from the inclusion of this engine to the range of C4 Picasso MPV, Citroën passes us to the C4 Picasso HDi diesel engine Blue 150 can equip the automatic gearbox six relations using the next ‘big guy’ of the range, Grand C4 Picasso. It is an automatic torque converter EAT6 called his six-for relationships-that support the start-stop system.
