Mercedes GP gives way to Mercedes AMG
Next year Formula 1 will have an interesting dance names. As we have already counted from these lines, several teams are going to change his name. The current Lotus Reanult GP, Team Lotus and Marussia Virgin Racing will be renamed Lotus, Caterham and Marussia Team respectively, but are not the only ones.
In today’s session it has been known that the current Mercedes GP will be renamed in 2012. In a move of marketing, such as in the other cases, the Anglo-German team (chassis is manufactured in Brackley) will be called Mercedes AMG. A change that makes it clear that Mercedes-Benz intimately want to join the biggest competition in the world with its division of high-performance vehicles. The full name is Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula 1 Team.
The new Mercedes AMG will have to give a qualitative leap next season. This year, his full second has been so poor that not even been able to “scratch” a podium for the three most powerful teams, Red Bull, McLaren and Ferrari. Fight for the fifth and sixth position is a little booty if we consider the significant expense of Mercedes-Benz.
