The first electric car showroom planned in the UK
The UK is set to become the first country to have a showroom dedicated exclusively to electric cars. This idea has plans to build in Oldham, Manchester.
More than an idea can be seen that the project is a fact, because planning permission has been granted to the company Manchester Electric Car Company (MECC), a manufacturer of electric cars and people that will build new facilities in an ancient site known as the Roxy Cinema Hollinwood, Oldham.
The showroom, which will open in summer next year will be the first of six planned for construction sites around Greater Manchester. Some other areas where they were located showroom electric cars will be the airport of Manchester, Central Manchester, Oldham, MediaCityUK, Stockport and the Trafford Centre.
The “Electric Hollinwood Pod,” as it will be released this showroom of electric cars, bicycles and motorcycles; always have these products available to buy or rent, likewise offer fast charging points, valet services and maintenance and servicing.
Similarly, the same company is also planning to set up a regional network of 300 charging points across Greater Manchester. A project is planned to launch in April 2013.
The demand for electric cars is increasing, therefore, this British company looks forward to that sales tend to increase significantly in the coming years. Many electric cars are already available on the market and by 2012, in Britain it is estimated that will be a maximum of 25 new electric and hybrid cars moving in the automotive market monthly.
