Power is provided by a four-cylinder 2.0-liter turbo that produces 330 horsepower and is connected to a sequential six-speed transmission featuring shift paddles mounted on the steering wheel. This allows the vehicle to accelerate from 0-100 km / h in approximately 5.2 seconds before reaching a top speed of 230 km / h.

In a statement, Volkswagen Motorsport Director Jost Capito said: “The Golf GTI TCR allows racing teams participating in motor sports for a reasonable price with a Volkswagen. We are providing them a car that is perfectly suited and prepared for this purpose: the Golf has not only made an excellent impression on tests, but also showed their potential in the competition. ”
