The Audi A3 Sedan is currently manufactured in Brazil, but still in the previous generation and with the end of production scheduled for the end of 2020, if not earlier because of the coronavirus.
However, the second generation of the same must be carried out, according to the American magazine Car and Driver. According to the publication, the small Audi sedan will return in 2021 to operate again in the US market.
It will be accompanied by the Audi S3 and Audi RS3 sports cars in the same year, however, forget about the Sportback body. In the USA, Audi’s sports pair will be presented again in sedan form.
With a visual already imagined in a projection by designer Kleber Silva, the New Audi A3 Sedan will arrive much more powerful in the USA. Internal sources have revealed that the model will have a standard 243 horsepower 2.0 TFSI gasoline engine, as well as a light 48-volt hybrid system.
The Audi S3 Sedan will have the same 2.0 TFSI engine, but with 300 horsepower, while the RS3 Sedan will have 400 horsepower with the 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder. However, it is known that these two will have four-wheel drive, but the A3 2.0 TFSI will also have the Quattro system, but as an option.
However, the Audi A3 2021 offer will not be limited to just the sedan. In this case, the plug-in hybrid model will arrive on board the A3 Sportback e-tron, which will have a 1.4 TFSI engine with 150 horsepower and an electric motor with 115 horsepower, totaling 245 horsepower combined.
It is not yet known the origin of the A3 Sedan 2021 that will be sold in the states next year, but production could follow from Brazil, if the country signs a free trade agreement with the USA or an automotive agreement with the same.
This would allow Brazilian production to enter the American market without import taxes, unlike the European product, which would have to collect it. It would also be a good opportunity to maintain local production.
