BMW 330e plug-in hybrid made its debut on the Italian market first step in a strategy that foresees similar versions of Series 7, Series 2 Active Tourer and X5.

In the petrol range, the 340i starts at 46,850 Euros, but has a six-cylinder engine and offers a far greater power, while among the diesel 330dA, always six-cylinder power and comparable, is offering a 48,700 euro.

The technology BMW TwinPower Turbo here is based on the four-cylinder two-liter petrol from 135 kW, coupled to an electric motor of 65 kW. The electric motor of BMW 330e plug-in hybrid is located ahead of the gearbox , in the area so the front, while the batteries occupy the rear area by limiting to 41 liters the capacity of the fuel tank . The passenger compartment is unchanged as regards the space while the trunk has a capacity of 370 liters compared with 480 liters of petrol versions or diesel fuel.
The drive mode can be set according to schedule Sport, Comfort and EcoPro, relating to the overall dynamics of the machine. The eDrive system instead can operate in Auto eDrive, Max eDrive and Sabe Battery.
The first ensures synergy between engine and electric motor in order to offer the maximum driving efficiency. Max with eDrive is exploited only the electric drive with speed limited to 120 km / h and engine ignition temperature of exceeding this threshold or if the kick-down with the accelerator signal the immediate need for maximum performance. In Save Battery is finally maintained the battery charge for subsequent use for example in urban areas or limitation of movement.
Interesting integration of BMW 330e plug-in hybrid is the ConnectedDrive system with mechanics. Depending on the destination set in the navigation system and the type of driving, the system uses the electric drive for the towns or, in the case of climbs, uses energy from the batteries to recover later in the subsequent descent. In calculating the system also takes advantage of the statistical maps and real-time information on local traffic.
