The New Honda Civic 2022 had the first images of the prototype model released on the internet through the launch live, which occurred in an instant in the USA. The brand revealed that the Civic family will be complete with Sedan, Hatchback, Si and Type R.
The Japanese sedan’s mid-size sedan was introduced early with a prototype, without the actual interior being shown, but images released showing the dashboard of the new eleventh-generation Civic. Despite the longer body and somewhat conservative lines in the patent images, what we see here is a sedan that still looks very expressive and far from something more sober, as expected.
At the front, the full LED headlights have a more straight shape and with L-shaped daytime running lights, in addition to a grill almost swallowed by the hood and without the traditional chrome bar, although the prototype proposal is a potential RS version.
The pronounced bumper has a wide grille and shiny black side creases, with a very sporty air, as well as the sedan proposal in this show car format, indicating that the RS version will be a reality and, perhaps, even in Brazil, in place from Sport.
The body, sculpted in a coupe shape, had a prolonged and less expressive rear than the front, reinforced by a trunk more in a format that the Germans call notchback, but without the lid integrated into the rear window. The body became more rigid, providing better handling.
The lanterns also reinforce the idea of a Civic 11 more behaved in this respect. Still, the bumper has a built-in dual exhaust and this draws attention to the fact that the product arrives more strongly in the L15 1.5 Turbo engine, which currently has 173 horsepower, but which has versions of up to 208 horsepower, such as the Civic Si .
In addition, sports wheels with black finish. Inside, Honda released only digital images, where the cluster appears with digital displays mimicking analog, as well as a multimedia display with a 9-inch screen. Honda talks about a more airy cabin.
Attention is drawn to the continuous air diffusers with an old-fashioned appearance. The three-spoke steering wheel looks better than the current one, while the tunnel has become wider and now has cup holders next to the lever. We thought the transmission would be by buttons, but Honda kept a lever, albeit with a hood.
On the doors, handles and armrests stand out, while in the center of the panel, the automatic air conditioning appears to have digital displays on the buttons. In safety, the Civic 11 will have Honda Sensing and also Advanced Compatibility Engineering to protect occupants and pedestrians.
In the USA, the hatch will be manufactured in Greensburg, Indiana, with the Alliston plant, Ontario, Canada, continuing production of sedans. Here, it should be done in Itirapina, in the interior of São Paulo and should arrive by 2022.
